Good News!
Two weeks go by and Ellen is in an apartment in Mollohan, Sweden. They live next to David that they knew in Copenhagen. When Ellen was going to the really old store to buy some wheat bread. She saw people celebrating in the old mail store and Ellen went over to see what was going on.
Ellen went over and asked Henry a guy with a big beard, Ellen asked, “Why is everyone so excited”?”
Henry said, “They got a letter that saying that the war was over!” Ellen was so happy that the war was over, that she ran into the store and yelled, “The war is over!” Then Ellen got her bread and ran as fast as she could to her apartment. When Ellen got to her apartment Ellen told her mom and dad, “That the war is over.”
Mrs. Rosen yelled, “The war is over!” She was jumping up and down.
Ellen was so excited that she is going to see Annemarie again. Then Mrs. Rosens said, “Ok, we have to make a plane to get a ride back to Copenhagen from Uncle Henrik” Mr. Rosen went into the apartment and stated to write a letter to Uncle Henrik.
The letter said, “Uncle Henrik can you come and pick us up we are so excited to be free again?”
Two days later Mrs. Rosen got a letter from Uncle Henrik. The letter said,” Yes, I
can come and pick you up in two days.
Two days have passed and the Rosen had all their clothes, food, bathroom, and supples packed and they were looking at the rough green water, outside the apartment in Molloham, Sweden. Then they saw Uncle Henrik in his big green boat coming to get them down the Baltic Sea. They took Uncle Henrik boat that they took over to Sweden. The Rosen got on the big boat. When they were half way to Gilleje Mrs. Rosen got seasick.
Then Uncle Henrik said,” We will be there in an hour.” When they got to Gilleje, Uncle Henrik took them to a train for them to go to Copenhagen.
When they got to the train station Uncle Henrik bought train tickets and told them to, “Be safe and I have to go fishing.” When they were on the long train the conductor said, “All a board!" Then the train left. The whole 1 hour Ellen was looking through the window and thinking about Annemarie.
” It is so good to be back.” Ellen said when the Rosen got off the train, Ellen ran as fast as she could to their apartment in Copenhagen. She saw the Johansons standing outside picking apples and Ellen ran to go see Annemarie by the apartment. Then they came inside to have a really big supper.
Ellen said,” I haven’t had a supper this big in a long time.” They had bacon, butter, apples, ham, cheese, and potatoes.
After supper, Annemarie took Ellen for a walk to show her what has happen to the buildings. When they were by a factory that blow up, Annemarie gave the Star of David back to her.
Annemarie said,” I kept it safe the whole time.”
